HMS Victory: the ship of the line that won Trafalgar and still refuses to grow old (1805)

HMS Victory is the oldest commissioned warship in the world: launched at Chatham in 1765, she is still the flagship of the First Sea Lord. Her appointment with history came on 21 October 1805, when Nelson commanded the fleet at Trafalgar from her quarterdeck and died on her orlop deck, the victory already won. Thousands of oaks, 104 guns, 821 men aboard that day. Since 1922 she has been preserved at Portsmouth — where you can still walk her decks.

Admiralty-style model. Only 999 units worldwide. Limited edition. Once it sells out, it does not come back.

The originals are displayed today in the great naval museums. Yours will be built only once.

History of the HMS Victory Ship

The HMS Victory is a British ship of the line, famous for its participation in the 1805 Battle of Trafalgar as the flagship of Admiral Horatio Nelson. In its time, it was the largest ship in the British Royal Navy. Although it now resides in dry dock at the port of Portsmouth in Hampshire, southern England, as a museum, the Victory remains the flagship of the Second Sea Lord, an honorary distinction within the British Royal Navy.

Did you know that you can admire the magnificent HMS Victory at the National Museum of the Royal Navy in Portsmouth? There, you will have the incredible opportunity to explore every corner of the HMS Victory, from the majestic Great Cabin where intricate battle plans were laid out, to the humble lower gun deck, where you can imagine what it was like to live and fight under the command of Vice Admiral Lord Nelson. The museum is located 2 hours south of London and is a must-visit for all ship and history enthusiasts.

Only 999 in the world: how a limited edition is built

This isn't a Victory model: it's one of 999, and there will be no more. Occre spent more than two years developing this Admiralty-style model — the approach that respects the logic of the real shipyard: keel, frames, beams and planking laid out as Chatham laid them out in 1765 — under official licence from the National Museum of the Royal Navy: the endorsement of the institution that keeps the real Victory at Portsmouth. Every unit comes with a numbered brass plate, a numbered wooden box, a collector's coin and a bound book with 759 step-by-step photographs.

Its 11,000-plus parts put every material to the work it does best, just as on the real ship: solid oak in the frames and structure — the species that held the Victory up —, mahogany in the keel, rudder, gun carriages and stern gallery, cannons and ornamentation cast with a brass finish, hand-sewn cotton sails with boltropes, and a solid oak display stand. A complete shipyard, and the papers to prove it's yours.
