When the Bounty mutineers cast Lieutenant Bligh adrift on 28 April 1789, this is what they left him: an open boat, eighteen loyal men and scant provisions. Bligh turned it into one of the greatest feats of navigation in history: 5,800 kilometres across the Pacific to Timor, which he reached on 14 June. The mutiny has been filmed again and again; sailors, though, remember the boat. This model is that boat.
