The sailors' star, the modeller's guide

Polaris is the name of the North Star: the point in the sky that stays fixed while everything else turns around it. For centuries sailors looked for it to know where north lay and, from its height above the horizon, what latitude they were sailing. Occre designed this ship as a tribute to that role: to be the guide. The Polaris does not reproduce a historic vessel; it teaches, piece by piece, the techniques with which all the others are built.

If you are thinking of getting started in naval modeling, the Polaris is the model for you.

Taking into account the general assembly techniques of a naval model, we have designed a simple and attractive model, with assembly video tutorials on our YouTube channel and very detailed step-by-step assembly instructions. With the Polaris, you will practice and learn the assembly and rigging techniques used in naval modeling.

Wood: Fine hardwoods of several species, chosen according to what each part has to do: structure, hull planking, deck and visible finishes. Laser-cut sheets for a precise fit.
Photo-etched brass: Photochemically etched brass parts for the finest detail, impossible to reproduce in wood.
Zamak castings: Detail parts such as cannons, anchors and deck fittings, cast in zamak for a solid, realistic finish.
Cotton: Sewn sails and threads of different thicknesses for the standing and running rigging.
