L’Bateaux Endeavour fut construit en juin 1764 par Thomas Fishburn sous le nom de Earl Of Pembroke. Il pesait 368 tonnes et avait 29 m de long, 24,79 m de quille et 8,89 m de largeur maximale. Il présentait une proue arrondie et une poupe plate avec un gréement en forme de croix. Ce navire fut utilisé pour le transport de charbon. Il fut enregistré le 5 avril 1768 comme navire de la Royal Navy sous le nom de Endeavour et reçut la mission d’entreprendre des voyages d’exploration. Il fut préparé à ce voyage dans les chantiers navals de Deptford, près de Londres, où l’on y aménagea des ponts, des cabines et des réservoirs destinés à accueillir le personnel - officiers, scientifiques, personnel de service et marins - qui représentait au total 94 hommes. L’Bateaux Endeavour fit le tour du monde sous les ordres du capitaine James Cook. Il partit de Plymouth (Angleterre), le 8 août 1768, et rentra à Londres, le 13 juillet 1771. La mission de cette expédition consistait à observer le passage de la planète Vénus entre la terre et le soleil. Elle permit d’estimer la distance entre les astres et d’utiliser celle-ci comme mesure pour calculer les paramètres de l’univers.
L’Bateaux Endeavour a ensuite été utilisé par la Royal Navy lors de la guerre d'indépendance des États-Unis et a finalement été sabordé avec une douzaine d'autres navires au large de Newport, dans le Rhode Island, en 1778.

My first large ship! I had a little training building several small boats but this………this is extraordinary! I’m currently at the sail rigging stage after over a year‘s work. I’m nearing the end of this chapter. I’m starting to think about my next build!
Almost there. The Kit was very complete with plenty of material (other than what I accidentally wasted). Instructions were adequate, but cross check all of them, including photos. There were a few inaccurate measurements and conflicts I could have avoided

Maquette passionnante a réaliser. Bois de très bonne qualité Explications claires. Manuel photo bien fait et indispensable Vidéo YouTube au top 👍 Encore de nombreuses heures de détente en vue pour finaliser ce projet.

This is my first wooden ship model. Enjoying it very much. Just finished the 1st layer planking which worked out better then I thought it would. Great kit so far.
The Endurance kit is my most exciting model ship challenge yet. There are so many quality and detailed parts. I'm only into the first planking but enjoying it immensely. Laser cut parts fit precisely and wood stock provided is very cleanly cut. No furry offcuts in sight. Enough extra strips are provided for fixing mistakes and not being stingy with the wood. A great kit.

Started building. The instructions are clear with enough pictures to understand what exactly has to be done. Still a long way to go before the ship is final, but it’s fun and nice build. Quality of the pieces are also good, so it all fits together.

Started building the Endeaver very happy with the quality of wood and pre cut material . This is the forth model ship I have purchased from Occre . Although I have made a few mistakes with each model my skill is improving

Ich habe mir die Endeavour gekauft und baue immer mal wieder an dem Modell. Einige Stellen in der Anleitung sind leider nicht direkt ersichtlich. So brauche ich teilweise einen zweiten Anlauf, um das Modell fertig zu bekommen. Durch die Lebenslange Garantie ist das aber Gott sei Dank kein Problem. Inzwischen bin ich bei den Masten angekommen und bewundere das Modell wie es wächst. Ich kann es kaum erwarten, wenn die Segel gehisst werden..
