Die Schiffe Endeavour wurde im Juni 1764 von Thomas Fishburn unter dem Namen „Earl Of Pembroke“ gebaut. Die 368-Tonnen-Bark hatte eine Länge (Lüa) von 29 m, eine LzdL von 24,79 m und einen Tiefgang von 8,89 m. Das Bug war rund und das Heck flach mit Vollschiff-Takelung. Sie diente ursprünglich zum Transport von Kohle.
Am 5. April 1768 wurde das Schiff in die Flotte der Royal Navy aufgenommen und auf den Name Endeavour getauft. Sie wurde zu Entdeckungsfahrten eingesetzt. In der Werft in Deptford nahe London wurde die Schiffe Endeavour auf die Reise vorbereitet, es wurden Decks Kajüten und Unterkünfte für die Besatzung angelegt: Offiziere, Wissenschaftler, Bedienstete und Marinesoldaten -insgesamt 94 Männer. Die Endeavour umsegelte die Welt unter Kapitän James Cook. Sie legte am 94. Augsut 1768 in der englischen Hafenstadt Plymouth ab und kam am 13. Juli 1771 in London an. Zweck dieser Expedition war es, den Lauf des Planeten Venus zwischen Erde und Sonne zu verfolgen und so die Entfernung zwischen den beiden Himmelskörpern zu bestimmen, die für die Berechnung der Parameter des Universums verwendet werden sollte.
Das Schiff wurde später von der Royal Navy im amerikanischen Unabhängigkeitskrieg eingesetzt und 1778 mit einem Dutzend anderer Schiffe vor Newport, Rhode Island, versenkt.

My first large ship! I had a little training building several small boats but this………this is extraordinary! I’m currently at the sail rigging stage after over a year‘s work. I’m nearing the end of this chapter. I’m starting to think about my next build!
Almost there. The Kit was very complete with plenty of material (other than what I accidentally wasted). Instructions were adequate, but cross check all of them, including photos. There were a few inaccurate measurements and conflicts I could have avoided

Maquette passionnante a réaliser. Bois de très bonne qualité Explications claires. Manuel photo bien fait et indispensable Vidéo YouTube au top 👍 Encore de nombreuses heures de détente en vue pour finaliser ce projet.

This is my first wooden ship model. Enjoying it very much. Just finished the 1st layer planking which worked out better then I thought it would. Great kit so far.
The Endurance kit is my most exciting model ship challenge yet. There are so many quality and detailed parts. I'm only into the first planking but enjoying it immensely. Laser cut parts fit precisely and wood stock provided is very cleanly cut. No furry offcuts in sight. Enough extra strips are provided for fixing mistakes and not being stingy with the wood. A great kit.

Started building. The instructions are clear with enough pictures to understand what exactly has to be done. Still a long way to go before the ship is final, but it’s fun and nice build. Quality of the pieces are also good, so it all fits together.

Started building the Endeaver very happy with the quality of wood and pre cut material . This is the forth model ship I have purchased from Occre . Although I have made a few mistakes with each model my skill is improving

Ich habe mir die Endeavour gekauft und baue immer mal wieder an dem Modell. Einige Stellen in der Anleitung sind leider nicht direkt ersichtlich. So brauche ich teilweise einen zweiten Anlauf, um das Modell fertig zu bekommen. Durch die Lebenslange Garantie ist das aber Gott sei Dank kein Problem. Inzwischen bin ich bei den Masten angekommen und bewundere das Modell wie es wächst. Ich kann es kaum erwarten, wenn die Segel gehisst werden..
