Le Gorch Fock est le voilier-école où sont formés actuellement les nouveaux cadets de la marine allemande. Il fut construit dans les chantiers navals Blohm et Voss à Hambourg à partir des plans du modèle antérieur de 1933. Il fut mis à l’eau le 23 août 1958 et son port d’attache se trouve dans la ville de Kiel.
Il participe régulièrement aux activités organisées par la Sail Training Association.

Not easy to follow the instruction, but being a seasoned builder I figured it out. The model is very accurate. I compared it with real images.

He tardado un año (fines de semana y vacaciones), y ha merecido la pena. Es un barco precioso. Lo he pasado en grande y he aprendido mucho. Es un kit digno de una empresa como OCCRE. Al terminarlo (aunque pudieras haberlo hecho mejor), te sientes muy orgulloso. El "Amerigo Vespucci" me esta esperando...
Hssta ahora me va muy biem. El kit tambiem me parece estar muy bueno. Gracis

Schönes Boot zum Bauen, es hat Spaß gemacht, mein Sohn ist bei der Marine und lag in Kiel, als ich sagte, dass ich dieses Boot zum Bauen gekauft hätte, schickte er ein Foto von der Gorch Fock, die damals auch dort vertäut war, weil der Kieler Woche

It is a very beautiful project, but you must be a skilled modeller. The Romanian Navy has a ship from the same family, the 'Bricul Mircea'. It was built in 1938-1939 at the same shipyard Blohm und Voss in Hamburg, Germany.

The Gorck Fock is a very interesting German training ship. Building this model involves a lot of careful planning. The hull takes a lot of work to get it smooth and correctly proportioned. There are a lot of details on the deck, and a surprisingly large amount of rigging. I enjoy building such good models, not only for the experience of the construction but also the final model to display

Ich habe noch nicht mit dem Bau begonnen. Der Modellbausatz ist wie immer in der sehr guten OCCRE Qualität.
Ich habe mit dem Bau noch nicht begonnen, da ich noch mit dem Bau der "Beagle" beschäftigt bin. Verpackung und Inhalt sehen aber sehr wertig aus und ich bin sicher, dass auch diesmal alles super ist.

Je commence a peine la maquette mais comparativement a d'autre fabricant très connu je trouve que la qualité ainsi que les explications me semble bien meilleur pour ma première expérience chez Occre.
Sehr schnelle Lieferung. Qualität von Occre ist Top.Sehr zu empfehlen.

Die Box für die Kleinteile hat sich leider auf dem Postweg geöffnet und der Inhalt hat sich dann in der Umverpackung verteilt. Aber es war alles vollständig und der Bausatz entspricht ansonsten der gewohnt guten Qualität.

I bought the Gorch Fock, but still busy with other OcCre projects Before modelers want to build a large ship, it is wise to start with a simple kit. That's how I started. For me the biggest problems were building the hull and the masts/rigging. But by carefully studying the ocCre manual and videos, everyone should be able to bring a project to a successful conclusion. The great thing about working on these ships is that you see your project grow every time. I can often look at a project for hours while enjoying a cup of coffee. They are beautiful ornaments in your home and moreover, it forces you to delve into the history of each boat by reading books. Currently I am working on both the Beagle that I have to build for a biologist (Darwin etc.) and the Del Pilar. I can't say much about the Gorch Fock because I haven't started it yet. But for my girlfriend and myself this boat has a certain emotional value.From what I've seen in the box, I have to say that it all looks great and doesn't seem to cause any problems during the build. I recently heard on a German modeling channel that people are full of praise for OcCre and that the ships are delivered in such a way that you can also change them according to your own insights. I also think the great thing about OcCre is that the building kits are still affordable and that you can use them for months, while there are also manufacturers who market “plastic” building kits for more than 300 euros. So the choice was quickly made for me. OcCre keep it up and let us enjoy your beautiful products for years to come.
