I'm a retiree and build these models as a hobby. Titanic was my fifth build and the most challenging so far. It took about 25 days to complete and the kit was the first of the 5 that was not missing a single part. The first 4 each had one or more missing parts that were eventually mailed to me by the various suppliers, but some took several weeks to arrive. I commend OcCre for a very fine and complete model. It was a very enjoyable experience. I am now browsing through OcCre's other models trying to decide which one to build next.

No he usado ningún efecto. Es real 100%
Dear Sirs..,
I was given your Titanic model as a gift. I am a good model maker. I have been making models of every scale from Plastic, Wood, Card, 3D printed, etc for over 60 years. I have to say, this was the worse model I have ever had to make.
Be honest in your sales literature. This model kit is from a past time. Explain that this model is from a period that needed a lot more skill and time to make and would be a compromise on fine detail by today’s standards when finished.
Your instruction to make the hull and funnels with small planks and nails, then fill and sand, is beyond belief.
I made them from balsa wood to prevent all those unnecessary lines that do not represent a true model at this scale. In addition, your instructions jump around from logical steps needed to make a model of this complexity.
The box of metal bits that need hours to sort and match with your instructions is also beyond belief. Having to then paint them is also very difficult.
Mould them in the correct colour plastic. (white, green, black).
The ‘brass laser cut sheets’ do not cut-out well, and having to make the 12 lifeboat davits from 4 pieces each and then paint is a joke. Again, make them in white plastic. Model making should be relaxing and fun, this model is not.
I did eventually finish your model and have given it lights and sound. Better than many of those shown on some of your other photos/videos.
I attach photos and videos of my finished model. I built this to show a more true reflection on how this ship would have looked.
No one ever saw it on a stand. It was either under construction, in the water, or sinking.
I do not expect you to publish this email or attachments. I may decide do this on other web sites.
Yours
J.S. Vallance
One of the best ship model kits I have ever built! It took me over 800 hours building, enjoyed every hour, watching the Titanic come to completion. Wonderfully engineered, with detail to authenticity. I applaud you, and Congratulations on your 25-year journey, in engineering the best model kits.

This Titanic kit was my first step into making a wooden ship model, l'd only built plastic kits. When the kit arrived I was surprised at the weight of the contents, always a good sign. So l started with trepidation, a complete novice, requiring wood working skills and more. What can I say, it was an utter joy to make. Both the full colour instruction manual and online videos were superb. Not once did l have any difficulty, so much so that l felt confident to tackle any problems of construction, but there were none. My intention was to have led lighting within the hull and superstructure so that was added before l started hull planking. This did result in a lot of electrical cabling and the need to make a small hole in the hull for the power socket to external battery. Once built, and using Occre paints, the ship was finished, almost. I still ahve the rigging to do. The build process was so engaging and iformative that it resulted in myself becoming an assured model builder. The skills learnt building this kit led me to scratch build a 5ft Titanic from found parts, the hull skelton was made from foam board, and clad in bamboo strips, the decking was made from wooden coffe stirrers, the funnels were left overs from a 3d printed pipe and so forth. And it has lighting. This model was the result of building the magnificent Titanic model. I did damage an item of superstructure and lost some metal parts but Occre sent them out immediately at no cost, WOW not many companies do that! Occre is a stupendous company, and thank you for your excellent products and superb customer service!!
This is my first OcCre model so it took a little getting used to how the instructions work. The part number isn't located on the part and a diagram has to be used for reference. I wasn't happy with the cardboard type material used on the outer hull panels and the windows and doors are press on decal/stickers so there's no reason to add lighting. There's a lot of painting involved so buy a good airbrush.

The Occre Titanic is the first ever wooden model ship I have built. I have only ever constructed plastic model kits. So taking on a flat pack kit and turning it into something so iconic was a challenge. But, the Occre Titanic kit is so well planned out, with superb instructions , plus perfect laser cut pieces that I found this a most wonderfully relaxing kit to make. It took me two months of evening building. The model is not yet finished, rigging needs to be completed, and deck lights added (I knew from opening the box that I wanted interior lights, so that was added at the hull construction point, with lights placed as the decks were built.)
I arrogantly did not initially fully read the superb building notes, and placed one rib in the wrong place, so a slight deviation of the hull line. But, I believe, my hull curve upwards to the bow is more truthful than the Occre build photo, but that's just me. I thoroughly enjoyed the planking stage, with the small nails (get the nail tool, its a must) Then the sanding to shape. What I thought would be the most difficult part, the schooner stern, was a joy to build as Occre made it easy via a sensible and considered approach. I am a Titanic enthusiast so have some knowledge of the history of this infamous ship plus several plastic models of her. But the fact that this Titanic is wood and I built her from the keel up, makes it my most favourite. Making this model taught mea great deal about wood working and boat building, suffice to say, I reckon I could build a small full size boat if I was stranded on a desert Island. I'd love to build the Eugen, but probably would try my hand with a sail boat first. Oh and I mislaid some parts (thanks to my children) and Occre sent replacements quickly, thank you. I recommend this model and the Occre company 100%!!!!
PS Occre would you consider developing kits to cover the great ocean liners? RMS Queen Mary and Elizabeth. SS France, SS Canberra and please please, SS Northern Star and SS Southern Cross (Shaw Saville line)
Thank you
I ordered the Titanic kit together with the paint kit. Shipping to Canada was fast and the kit was very well packaged. Quality of the material is simply excellent and the fitting amazing. The illustration instructions and the online videos are some of the best I have seen. The ship looks really interesting and has been fun to build so far. It presents me with a great opportunity to dive into the history of the Titanic. I will have no hesitation to buy another kit from OcCre in the future.
