Geschichte des Santa María-Schiffs von Christoph Kolumbus
Das Santa María-Schiff verließ den Hafen von Palos de la Frontera in Spanien am 3. August 1492 unter dem Kommando von Kolumbus. Diese Reise markierte den Beginn der europäischen Erforschung des amerikanischen Kontinents.
Die Santa María war eine Nao, ein robustes Schiff, das für lange Seereisen geeignet war. Während der Reise standen Kolumbus und seine Besatzung vor zahlreichen Herausforderungen, darunter Stürme und die Unsicherheit, in unbekannte Gebiete zu segeln. Schließlich sichteten sie am 12. Oktober 1492 Land und erreichten eine Insel, die wir heute als die Bahamas kennen. Dieses Ereignis gilt als einer der bedeutendsten Momente der Geschichte, da es die Tür zur Erforschung und Kolonisation der Neuen Welt öffnete.
Leider beendete die Santa María die Rückreise nach Spanien nicht. Am 25. Dezember 1492 lief sie auf eine Sandbank vor der Küste des heutigen Haiti auf. Die Besatzung nutzte die Überreste des Schiffs, um ein Fort namens La Navidad zu bauen, wo einige Matrosen blieben, während Kolumbus mit den Nachrichten der Entdeckung nach Spanien zurückkehrte.
Die Santa María, trotz ihres tragischen Endes, bleibt ein Symbol der Ära der Entdeckungen und des abenteuerlichen Geistes, der die Renaissance prägte.

La Santa María ha sido mi primer contacto con el modelismo y solo tengo buenas palabras para Occre. Los acabados de las piezas son muy buenos, las instrucciones intuitivas y los vídeos ayudan mucho. Recomiendo al 100% esta maqueta para principiantes.

Questo è stato il mio primo modello di nave in assoluto. Con le istruzioni cartacee e i video tutorial si riesce abbastanza facilmente a procedere, ci vuole comunque molto impegno. Di buona qualità i materiali del kit. Grazie a tutto il team di Occre, sempre puntuale e disponibile.

Dies ist mein erstes Schiff von Occre, die Santa Maria. Ein sehr schönes Schiff! Nur die Beplankung ist etwas problematisch. Die Biegungen der Leisten am Bug sind nur schwer zu verwirklichen. Trotz in Wasser einweichen, bügeln oder mit kleinen Zwingen spannen.

My review of Santa Maria by Occre Here’s my thoughts of my Santa Maria build. The plans and instructions are well executed and very easy to follow. From the unboxing video you can see that there are two booklets, one of the contains the building of the hull and the other was solely for rigging. The plans for the masts are one to one which makes it really easy to get the correct measurements. Also very easy to follow. The rigging of the ship is quite easy, the “hardest” part was to figure out where to connect the thread with the deck, however Occre supplies an overview on where to tie to the deck. This is all in all an excellent beginner ship. Very easy and forgiving to build. So if you’re thinking of getting into wooden ship model building, this is an extremely good model to begin with. For the more advance builder, it’s just massive fun to build and play around with. I chose a piece of history to follow through with, but you can make it you own and fool around with it and hone your skills. So even if you’re a beginner or experienced modeler, I will highly recommend this ship. Occre did a very good job on this. It might not be the most accurate representation of Santa Maria and lack certain details, but I don’t think it was ever designed to be an accurate model. I made mine as a Black Ship. Für ein Anfängermodell sind zu viele Dinge zu oberflächlich beschrieben, Formteile sind zu ungenau. Rumpf und Heck vollständig zu schleifen ist ebenso nicht sinnvoll. In der schriftlichen Beschreibung werden für Beize andere Referenz-Nr. verwendet als auf den Artikel zum Farbpaket bzw. andere Namen benannt. Ich halte das Modell dahingehend für einen Einsteiger nicht geeignet. Maximal die Bauzeit von ca. 140h sind dahingehend auf einen Anfänger bezogen.

I was impressed when I first opened the box and sorted everything out I started my construction project. I am new to model ship building and thought this would be a great learning experience. After getting the keel A1 and the bulkheads A2 to A12 ready to assemble, I found myself in trouble. A1 slots were 3.09 mm and 4.2 thick. The bulkheads A2 to A12 slots were 4.0 mm thick and 3.9 mm thick. The bulkheads were very loose in their slots, so I came up with a way to keep them from falling out. I thought I had the problem fixed, but I did not line up the tops ofthe bulkheads' level with the tops of the keels. By the time I got B2 and C8 installed and test-fitted the remainder, nothing lined up tabs and slots made it impossible to square up the boat for planking. This was an expensive way to learn. I think somebody should look at the setup and make some corrections. I am including some photos of how I squared A2 through A10. The model is shot. am going to try to remove everything and start all over again...but ... don't think it is possible. I would never order a model from OCCRE again. Thank you for letting me blow of some steam and vent.

Me cuesta mucho construirla, es mi primera maqueta de barcos y sinceramente me está quedando muy mal, las explicaciones son espectaculares pero mi dominio con el forrado del barco es pésimo, pero bueno es la primera, espero que la segunda vaya saliendo mejor.
