It is a kit with every part you need to build a scale ship, aircraft, tram or train yourself. The wooden parts come laser-cut: you sand them, glue them and assemble them following the plans and the step-by-step instructions.

No, as long as you start with a Beginner-level model. The instructions go step by step with photos and every kit has video tutorials. What you do need is patience and a quiet place to work.

They show how much experience each model calls for. Beginner: few parts and simple assembly. Intermediate: more parts and some practice. Advanced: for those who have already built several models. Expert: the longest and most demanding projects.

A Beginner-level one. If you have no tools, choose a Starter Pack such as the Polaris: it includes the basic tools, a cutting mat and white glue.

From 14+. Assembly involves precision blades, glue and small parts.

That the model is 87 times smaller than the original: one centimetre on the model equals 87 centimetres on the real ship. The scale and finished dimensions are on each product page.

It depends on the model and your pace. Each product page gives an estimated time: from around 120 hours for starter kits to over 1,000 for the most complex.

Every part of the model: laser-cut wood, brass, cast fittings and, on ships, sails and rigging thread. It also includes scale plans, a step-by-step manual with photos, a parts list and video tutorials. The box arrives shrink-wrapped.

Paints and tools are sold separately. Starter Packs are the exception: they include basic tools, a cutting mat and white glue.

To begin, a craft knife, sandpaper, pliers, a small hammer and a hand drill are enough. The Occre Tools Pack brings the basic tools together, with white glue and mini clamps.
