Occre designed this ship as a tribute to that role: to be the guide. The Polaris does not reproduce a historic vessel; it teaches, piece by piece, the techniques with which all the others are built.

Wood: Fine hardwoods of several species, chosen according to what each part has to do: structure, hull planking, deck and visible finishes. Laser-cut sheets for a precise fit.
Photo-etched brass: Photochemically etched brass parts for the finest detail, impossible to reproduce in wood.
Zamak castings: Detail parts such as cannons, anchors and deck fittings, cast in zamak for a solid, realistic finish.
