The sailors' star, the modeller's guide

Polaris is the name of the North Star: the point in the sky that stays fixed while everything else turns around it. For centuries sailors looked for it to know where north lay and, from its height above the horizon, what latitude they were sailing. Occre designed this ship as a tribute to that role: to be the guide. The Polaris does not reproduce a historic vessel; it teaches, piece by piece, the techniques with which all the others are built.

If you are thinking about starting naval modelling, Polaris is the model for you.

Taking into account the general techniques for assembling a naval model, we have designed a simple and attractive model, with video tutorials on our YouTube channel, with step-by-step, detailed assembly instructions. With Polaris you will practice and learn the assembly and model-building techniques used in naval modelling. These techniques are the same as those used for any ship, regardless of its type or size: working the materials, building and planking a hull, mast building, rigging and sails, varnishing and finishing wood and metals, and lots more

The name Polaris corresponds to the "Pole Star", the guiding star used by navigators. The Polaris ship aims to be a guide to get started in naval modelling.
