I tram a cavo sono una vera è propria icona di San Francisco. Il primo tram di questo tipo entrò in servizio a Londra. Anni dopo, il 2 agosto del 1873, Andrew Smith Hallidie provò a Clay street il primo tram a cavo di San Francisco. Dopo 136 anni, questi bei veicoli continuano ancora a percorrere le strade della città, formando parte indissolubile della sua vita quotidiana.
Il sistema si basa su di un cavo trascinato lungo il percorso, a velocità costante, da un motore stazionario. Il tram si avvia quando un dispositivo, chiamato trolley si collega al cavo per pressione. Allentando la pressione, insieme all’uso dei freni, il tram si ferma.
Oggi sono in servizio due flotte. Una è quella di Powell-Hyde and Powell-Mason. L’altra è quella di California Street cui appartiene il tram Nº 60 di cui riproduciamo il modello, costruito dalla MUNI (San Francisco Municipal Railway) nel1998 ed entrato in servizio nel 2002.
Questo tram riprende quello costruito in origine dalla John Hammond & Company per la California Street Cable Railroad Company nel 1906. A seguito del terremoto e dell’incendio dell’aprile del 1906, fu ricostruito nelle nuove officine Hammond con il Nº 16, diventato poi, nel 1957, il Nº 60 della MUNI. Nel 1968-69 fu ristrutturato presso le officine MUNI Elkton, salvando il tetto e le sedute del tram originale.

This is an awesome model to build and to have ridden on them in San Francisco is even better. The quality and details are amazing. For everyone who sees my finished model is awestruck. I have built aircraft models for over 50 years so I wanted to try something new. Now I must pick another one to build . With OCcre the choices and quality is great. Do yourself a favor Treat your to a model and build one they are so much fun.
En cours de réalisation. Très beau modèle et plaisant à construire. Me procure beaucoup de plaisir et il y aura certainement une suite !!!
Mi primer intento de tranvía, y está siendo satisfactoria. Se trata de mi segundo proyecto y todavía me faltan conocimientos. Algunos aspectos de las instrucciones me han resultado algo confusas. Pero todo se va solucionando.
Me l'ha regalata mia moglie ed è davvero bello, sono molto felice del mio nuovo trenino, quindi comprerò sicuramente un'altro oggetto.
Se lo regalé a mi marido y la verdad que está súper entretenido y encantado con su nuevo tren así que volveré a comprar

Beau modèle, un conseil? Recouvrir les vitres de film alimentaire car les ponçages obligatoires saliront celles-ci. N'enlever ce film qu'à la fin du montage car le nettoyage est presque impossible.
Maqueta divertida de montar. Todo el material era el correcto, y las instrucciones fáciles de seguir. Mi hijo y yo la hemos disfrutado!!
Schönes Modell. Es macht Spass jedes einzelne Teil zusammen zufügen.
Fun to build :))
I have built 2 ships from OCCRE and had great experiences with both. I decided to take a break from ships and bought this San Francisco Cable Car instead. To be honest, it is a bit of a let-down from my past experiences. The instructions are not as detailed, nor are the color photos. The painting instructions are a color photo of the paint color, instead of exact color. There was one metal piece missing, which I had to manufacture with wood. I am now finished and the result is spectacular. I still love this company and will order more models in the future.
Love the kit but disappointed by the number of small parts missing. I hope I have a better experience with the open bus that’s in shipment. I was successful lighting the cable car cabin with your kit. Just great working with Occre.
Beau modèle. Plus difficile qu'il n'y parait si on veut un résultat parfait. Notice un peu succinte évitant certaines étapes difficiles comme des raccords de peinture et ajustages. Les cadres de fenêtres ont dû être revus. Mais content dans l'ensemble.
Great model, shame about the stickers should be water-slide on transfers & a few passengers or at least a driver would be nice. If you take you time with cleaning parts up and the paintwork you can get a really good looking showpiece model. Really enjoyed the build, worth all the hours put in.

This was the first kit that I made from OCCRE. I picked this because we live near San Francisco and have ridden on the cable cars. I am slowly working on the HMS Beagle. This is to complement our visit to the Galapagos where we saw the finches that were made so famous by Charles Darwin!
I am having so much fun building this!!

Excelente modelo, como já é habitual com a OcCre. Materiais de qualidade, instruções com um grafismo excelente. A cada modelo novo que adquiro, reconfirmo a qualidade da OcCre. Este eléctrico é a minha última aquisição para adicionar aos eléctricos Lisboa e Istambul. É uma colecção que me está a encantar cada vez mais, a cada modelo que adquiro. Novamente, obrigado à OcCre por disponibilizar estes modelos. E até ao próximo modelo!!
Great model! It is less complicated than other OcCre models I've built, but it wasn't without its own challenges, and the result is very satisfying. A small part was missing from my kit but OcCre was very quick to send a replacement... outstanding customer service. A terrific kit that builds to a great model.
Der Aufbau hat sehr viel Spass gemacht. Ich habe das Modell noch "elektrifiziert" und mit den Figuren "leben eingehaucht".

I bought the Tram from Occre to take a break from larger woodworking projects. It has been wonderfully enjoyable. The instructions are well done and with some patience I am making my way through the kit. The accessories purchased have been a great help as well.
Super moment !! Un peu moins compliqué que le tramway de Lisbonne mais très sympa à faire Ce qui est dommage pour moi c’est qu’il n’y ai pas de décor comme avec celui de Lisbonne Mais en tout cas je suis super content du résultat
