L’Barche Endeavour fu costruito nel giugno del 1764 da Thomas Fishburn con il nome di Earl Of Pembroke. Aveva una stazza di 368 tonnellate e le sue dimensioni erano di 29 metri di lunghezza fuori tutto, 24,79 metri di chiglia e 8,89 metri di larghezza massima. La forma era di prua arrotondata e poppa piatta, con attrezzatura a vele quadre. Era dedicato al trasporto del carbone. Il 5 aprile del 1768 è stato registrato come vascello della Royal Navy con il nome di Barche Endeavour con la missione di svolgere viaggi esplorativi. Venne preparato per il viaggio nei cantieri di Deptford, vicino a Londra, con la realizzazione di ponti, cabine e locali per l’alloggio del personale: ufficiali, scienziati, addetti al servizio e marinai, per un totale di 94 persone. L’Barche Endeavour fece il giro del mondo agli ordini del capitano James Cook, salpando da Plymouth (Inghilterra) l’8 agosto del 1768 e ritornando a Londra il 13 luglio dei 1771. La missione di questa spedizione era l’osservazione del passaggio del pianeta Venere tra la Terra e il Sole e servì per stimare la distanza tra gli astri e utilizzare questa misura per calcolare i parametri dell’universo.
La nave fu successivamente utilizzata dalla Royal Navy nella guerra d'indipendenza americana e alla fine fu affondata con una dozzina di altre navi al largo di Newport, nel Rhode Island nel 1778.

My first large ship! I had a little training building several small boats but this………this is extraordinary! I’m currently at the sail rigging stage after over a year‘s work. I’m nearing the end of this chapter. I’m starting to think about my next build!
Almost there. The Kit was very complete with plenty of material (other than what I accidentally wasted). Instructions were adequate, but cross check all of them, including photos. There were a few inaccurate measurements and conflicts I could have avoided

Maquette passionnante a réaliser. Bois de très bonne qualité Explications claires. Manuel photo bien fait et indispensable Vidéo YouTube au top 👍 Encore de nombreuses heures de détente en vue pour finaliser ce projet.

This is my first wooden ship model. Enjoying it very much. Just finished the 1st layer planking which worked out better then I thought it would. Great kit so far.
The Endurance kit is my most exciting model ship challenge yet. There are so many quality and detailed parts. I'm only into the first planking but enjoying it immensely. Laser cut parts fit precisely and wood stock provided is very cleanly cut. No furry offcuts in sight. Enough extra strips are provided for fixing mistakes and not being stingy with the wood. A great kit.

Started building. The instructions are clear with enough pictures to understand what exactly has to be done. Still a long way to go before the ship is final, but it’s fun and nice build. Quality of the pieces are also good, so it all fits together.

Started building the Endeaver very happy with the quality of wood and pre cut material . This is the forth model ship I have purchased from Occre . Although I have made a few mistakes with each model my skill is improving

Ich habe mir die Endeavour gekauft und baue immer mal wieder an dem Modell. Einige Stellen in der Anleitung sind leider nicht direkt ersichtlich. So brauche ich teilweise einen zweiten Anlauf, um das Modell fertig zu bekommen. Durch die Lebenslange Garantie ist das aber Gott sei Dank kein Problem. Inzwischen bin ich bei den Masten angekommen und bewundere das Modell wie es wächst. Ich kann es kaum erwarten, wenn die Segel gehisst werden..
