In the race to conquer the South Pole, three names shone with their own light: Ernest Shackleton, Robert Falcon Scott and Roald Amundsen.
The Endurance was launched on December 17, 1912 under the name "Polaris". Originally rigged as a frigate, she was converted into a three-masted brigantine and in 1914 took part in the famous "Imperial Transantarctic Expedition" to cross the Antarctic under the command of Sir Ernest Shackleton.
After the shipwreck of August 19, 1915, they were trapped in the ice of the Weddell Sea. For 522 days they endured winds of up to 300 km/h and temperatures of 40 degrees below zero.
Shackleton, together with a few men aboard the boat "James Caird", made one of the most memorable and heroic voyages in the history of navigation. Together with his entire crew, they achieved the most important feat of all...survival.
The expedition is remembered as an epic story of overcoming, heroism and survival.
This is my first ever ship build, but I have always enjoyed assembling things, also a Lego enthusiast. When I was young I used to build balsa wood planes and really enjoyed it so I thought I would find another model type to build to unwind from a busy work day. Found OCCRE online and have been extremely happy with the quality of this model. The videos are very helpful for parts that I'm unsure of. Everything looked daunting at first but with some patience I have found that its been a challenge but nothing I cant handle. I certainly have made some mistakes that I can fix for my next one. Love the model!!

Endurance is my second build of an Occre kit and my 6th build overall. After building HMS Beagle I was impressed enough with the quality of the kit that for my next build I returned to Occre. I have only just started on the bulkheads, nothing exciting to see with that process, and I expect to spend the better part of the next year to complete the project. I attached a picture of HMS Beagle as my Endurance is no where near the point of photographing.

I am attempting Endurance as my first craft-built, wooden model ship. Oh the hubris, thinking that this would be an easy build for my first project. I quickly learned that there are plenty of mistakes to be made, but that this kind of ship building is totally enjoyable! Not to be discouraged, I have approached each step assuming that something will need to be corrected. Having said all of that, I am just now ready to apply the second lining, and am so thoroughly impressed with the quality of this OcCre kit that I have already ordered two more to work on when Endurance is done: Albatros and Polaris, both of which will be a more manageable skill-level and will provide much needed skill building for a more demanding build like the Beagle or the Essex (all sure to make their way eventually into my collection). Thank you OcCre for manufacturing truly wonderful, high quality products. I know I will be enjoying them for years to come!

I'm glad I started with the Albatross kit. Endurance was far more challenging but very rewarding. I'm standing back now and probably won't finish the ratlines for several months. Finding a cat and some dogs to help tell the story, brought the model to life.

Nach 40 Jahren Erfahrung im Eisenbahn-Modellbau nun mein allererster Schiffsbausatz - die Endurance musste ich unbedingt haben! Die Tutorials helfen ungemein, außerdem noch weitere YT-Kanäle, auf denen die Endurance gebaut wird. Hilfreich sind ebenfalls meine bisherigen Modellbauerfahrungen und eine gut bestückte Werkstatt mit gutem Werkzeug (einen Plankenbieger habe ich mir dazu gegönnt; der hat sich bezahlt gemacht). Ansonsten Zeit lassen, nicht hetzen - ich habe mir einen separaten Dauerwerkplatz im Keller eingerichtet, wo ich alles stehen lassen und jederzeit weiterbasteln kann. Begonnen habe ich im März, jetzt (September) bin ich bei der Vorbereitung der Masten.
Mein Fazit bislang: ein richtig toller Bausatz eines bemerkenswerten Schiffes; es macht ungeheuer viel Spaß und ich hatte bis hierhin noch nicht das Gefühl gehabt, überfordert zu sein. Ich kann mir vorstellen diesem neuen Hobby treu zu bleiben und dann gerne wieder ein Schiff aus dem Hause Occre.

Chegou como esperado. Nada de errado aconteceu. Veio bem embalado. Parece ter qualidade as peças. No entanto, é necessário mandar vir as tintas e pagar o kit para o barco, porque é muito difícil encontrar as tintas corretas em outros sitios à venda. Recomendo assim comprar o barco com o pack de tintas junto no mínimo.

Mal sehen, wie lange ich dieses mal für den Bausatz brauche.
Der Kundenservice ist jedenfalls top! Geht etwas kaputt, man verbaut sich oder es fehlt etwas hat man binnen 2 Wochen dann alles wieder zur Hand, um weiter zu machen. Vielen Dank und weiter so!
