Questo kit di modellismo navale in legno di OcCre ti invita a costruire, pezzo dopo pezzo, l'imbarcazione dell'uomo che catturò oltre 400 navi in soli tre anni e segnò la fine dell'Età d'Oro della pirateria.
Storia della Royal Fortune, la nave di Black Bart
Nel 1719, un marinaio gallese fu catturato dai pirati. Non voleva quella vita. Ma quando l'equipaggio lo elesse capitano, Bartholomew Roberts non si voltò più indietro. In appena tre anni divenne il pirata di maggior successo della storia, catturando più navi di chiunque altro prima o dopo di lui.
Roberts non rientrava nello stereotipo del pirata. Mentre gli altri bevevano rum fino a crollare, lui preferiva il tè. Indossava seta cremisi, un cappello piumato e una catena d'oro con una croce di diamanti rubata al re del Portogallo in persona. Fu temuto dal Brasile a Terranova. Creò uno dei codici pirateschi più rigidi mai conosciuti. E disegnò la propria bandiera: sé stesso in piedi, spada in mano, sulle teste dei suoi nemici di Barbados e Martinica — contrassegnate dalle iniziali ABH e AMH.
Il nome Royal Fortune non apparteneva a una sola nave. Roberts ribattezzava così ogni imbarcazione che prendeva come ammiraglia. Non era solo un nome — era un patto. Perché per lui la fortuna non era mai un caso. Era qualcosa da conquistare.
La sua fine giunse il 5 febbraio 1722 al largo di Capo Lopez, quando una scarica di mitraglia della HMS Swallow lo colpì alla prima bordata. Il suo equipaggio gettò il corpo in mare prima che le autorità potessero impossessarsene. Nemmeno nella morte permise ad altri di decidere il suo destino. Molti storici considerano che l'Età d'Oro della pirateria finì con lui.
Curiosità poco note:
Nel suo assalto più audace, Roberts si avvicinò a una flotta portoghese di 42 navi travestito da mercantile francese. Fuggì con 40.000 monete d'oro e una croce di diamanti destinata al re del Portogallo. A Terranova catturò 22 navi mercantili e 150 pescherecci in un solo porto, quasi senza resistenza. E il soprannome "Black Bart" non fu mai usato in vita — comparve anni dopo in un poema, come se la leggenda avesse bisogno di tempo per raggiungere l'uomo.

Tre legni, una nave leggendaria
Ogni legno è stato scelto con cura. Il tiglio offre una fibra morbida, ideale per l'intaglio di dettagli fini. Il noce africano conferisce al fasciame dello scafo il tono scuro e la durezza necessaria. E il sapelli, con la sua venatura rossastra, aggiunge il carattere dei legni nobili. Insieme, riproducono la combinazione di texture e tonalità che rendono questo modello un pezzo unico. La minuteria in ottone fotoinciso replica fedelmente le ferrature e i cannoni originali, mentre le vele in cotone cucite a mano completano una silhouette che si impone su qualsiasi scaffale.

Non serve essere un esperto — la difficoltà è media e hai a disposizione istruzioni passo dopo passo e video tutorial. Ma una volta completata, avrai tra le mani una replica in scala 1/65 di una delle imbarcazioni più leggendarie della storia navale.
Se ti affascina la storia, la navigazione o semplicemente la soddisfazione di creare qualcosa di straordinario con le tue mani, la Royal Fortune è per te. Perché la fortuna non è mai stata un caso. Per Roberts non lo è stata. Per te non lo sarà.

Mi octavo barco (Polaris, Albatros, Beagle. Buccaneer, Cisne Negro, Fram, Palamos y Royal Fortune). Ya tengo una flota muy bonita.
This is my first adventure in to the world of model wooden ships. Being an ex cabnit maker and working with wood and also been making plastic models for a number of years. It seemed this kit is well withing my skill set and ability. I got the royal fortune as looked a very nice kit to start with and I am impressed with the layout of the kit and the instructions and video tutorials. Inside the box I was met with nice packaging and that wonderful smell of wood and the glistening of metal parts. The ribs went together hassle free and the decking was fairly straightforward but still to attach to the hull. I have no doubt that I will find some bits taxing at times bit I think that is to be expected. As for dealing with occre direct everything went smoothly and was delivered by fed-ex around 5 days later. Only surprise was a hefty 20% vat bill. As could order from a uk shop at occre's rrp making the the kit cheaper by £78 including fed-ex handling charge. Was very disappointed as that extra i could have got the san Felipe. But it has made me worried about buying kits direct instead maybe get them from a uk shop. But all in all fantastic service and a great kit.
Segunda maqueta naval que monto de Occre. Muy contento con el proceso y de como esta quedando la construcción. Las instrucciones en papel a veces son un poco vagas y las fotografias a veces pueden inducir a error si las comparas con los videos de Youtube. En las piezas de montaje, al menos en mi pedido, faltaron dos tablones 2x4x600 nogal africano (se necesitan 4 y solo vienen 2). Recomiendo comprar alambres de laton y cancamos extras porque vienen en cantidades un poco justas. Por lo demás, buenos acabados, material resistente y una buena maqueta para niveles principiantes que quieran un desafio o intermedios que quieran afianzar sus habilidades

Love the kit and everything, only draw.. stuck in customs for a week because customs didnt want to look at the delclaration that was attached..
The model is great, but I wish it came with the tools that it shows are needed. the nail pusher and the device to trim and shape the wood are not included and I didn't know I needed them
All the materials appear to be topnotch. The castings are cleanly cast.
I haven’t started on it yet. I’m still working on the Essex. I’ll send you some pictures when I get started.

Haven't had a chance to start it yet because I do have 2 other current builds taking up room now. When it arrived I did start watching the videos for the Fortune, and can't wait until I can get it started. I will share photos of this and the other ships that I have from Occre. America - sailing yacht, Royal Fortune - Pirate Ship, Terror - Ice Explorer, Flying Dutchman - Mythical ship, San Felipe - Spanish Warship, Amerigo Vespucci - Italian trainer.
