The galleon of the buccaneer age (17th century)

The Buccaneer appears in no naval archive: it is an original Occre design. A pirate galleon that gathers the features of the ships which ravaged the Caribbean in the seventeenth century, when buccaneers and filibusters made Tortuga and Port Royal the capitals of piracy. The name comes from the boucan, the wooden grill on which those hunters of Hispaniola smoked their meat before taking to the sea. Everything about her is legend; the age was real.

PIRATES AND BUCCANEERS

In the 17th and 18th centuries, the peak and decline of piracy left legends of fabulous treasures and great feats for history. Pirates and buccaneers will be remembered as the "kings of the sea."

Geographically, they operated mainly in the Caribbean, the trade route between America and Europe. While pirates plundered merchant ships and raided coastal cities to enrich themselves, buccaneers engaged in smuggling, capturing small merchants, and the slave trade.

The Buccaneer model could have been one of those ships used to carry out their misdeeds. Thanks to this ship model kit, you will discover one of the darkest parts of naval history, enjoying your modeling hobby.
