History of the Pirate Ship Buccaneer
“... for my God is freedom;
my law is strength and the wind;
my only homeland, the sea.”
"The Pirate’s Song" – José de Espronceda (Spanish poet, 1808–1842)
Pirates and Buccaneers
During the 17th and 18th centuries, the rise and fall of piracy gave birth to countless legends of treasure and daring adventures. Pirates and buccaneers became known as the true “kings of the sea.”
They operated mainly in the Caribbean — the crucial trade route between the Americas and Europe. While pirates attacked merchant vessels and raided coastal towns in search of fortune, buccaneers focused on smuggling, seizing small traders, and engaging in the slave trade.
The Buccaneer model ship could well represent one of those vessels that sailed the Caribbean seas in search of adventure and plunder. With this model kit, you’ll explore one of the most thrilling chapters in maritime history while enjoying the art of model ship building.
